The girls and I were in baby jail, me trying to nap and them trying to crawl all over me and get me to play with their toys. Emi picked up one half of the Baby Einstein blocks that she loves so much and handed it to me.
She’d picked up the one with animals on it. Facing her was a duckling. I heard what sounded like “duck” come out of her mouth. So, I pointed to the duck, said “duck” and out of her comes “DUCK!”
Totally and absolutely clear. All night then she was saying “Duck!” when we played with the block. We got one smart cookie there! 😉
This counts as her first official non-mama, dada or baba word! Thank goodness it wasn’t buffy like we suspected it woud be! 😀
