Selective memory. It’s a boy thing, right? It has to be. That kid can remember the exact words to a show, but can’t remember that if you see a ‘.’ and the word after is not capitalized then that must be the error in the sentence.
We’ve been working on his end of grade test preparation for the last couple of weeks and finished capitalization and punctuation last night, so he did the practice test. Failed miserably. He got a 65.
On 3 of them, I told him they were wrong and he corrected them without hesitation. He 2nd guessed himself. On the rest it was like he just wasn’t paying attention. I don’t get it.
This kid is super smart, remembers little tiny details, but when it comes to school work, he bails mentally.
