Surgery day … pre-op

We didn’t know exactly what time they would be doing the surgery, but were told it would be late morning. By 10:30 am or so, they came to get Abby. Despite the serious nature of the entire process, the orderly brought a big bed to take Abby down in. Ha! She took it back, and we used the basinet that she was sleeping in instead.

I went with her to the pre-op room. There they basically asked a lot of questions to reconfirm all the details we’d previously told them. I met the Anesthesiologist, the Surgeon (another of the practice was going to do the surgery today). Also there was a Nurse Anesthetist and other various staff to be in on the surgery. For such a “small”, “quick” surgery, there were going to be a lot of people involved. That’s good because then folks can be sure of what they are doing to my little girl!

After about a half an hour wait, they took her away and I made my way back to the room.
