Lots o’ stuff…

Today has been really interesting. First off, Abby had not had a good feeding day yesterday and literally vomited much of what she ate. Good ole reflux! I’ve had to do quite a bit of laundry due to her. 😉

However, today was much better and she has figured out the whole nursing thing. Breastfeeding is supposed to help reduce reflux, but it will still be an issue for her. Since Emily figured it out, she too has had many less issues.

Granted, now I seem to be a literal cow. 🙂

Ron and I pulled out all the stops today and sat on the couch and watched a movie! Seems like an eternity since we’ve spent any time together — that wasn’t kid related. Yeah, we still had to stop a couple of times. Pause is such a lovely feature!

We took our first stroll today too. Loaded up the girls into their carseats and strapped the seats to the stroller (thanks to the Vrable & Hebler families!!). We were probably out for all of 20 minutes and boy could I feel it! I haven’t done much more than go up and down steps in the house. And, other than the Pediatrician’s visit, haven’t even been out of the house except to check the mail! So, our stroll through the neighborhood did me a lot of good. Wore the girls out too. They stayed conked out in their car seats upon our return.

Both girls are starting to show more emotion. Meaning, they are starting to smile more based on reason, not randomness.

Oh, and Ron has a nickname for Emily — Fat-Free Abby. It’s a term of endearment, trust me. Poor Em looks like an alien baby still because she’s so small! She needs to catch up to her bigger sister. Note I didn’t say big sister as Emily is the older one! Ha Ha!

On the nursing front, btw, Emily is a trooper and hasn’t had a bottle in over 24 hours! Woohoo! Now, Abby is on her way to making the same claim. I pump too (gotta produce a supply for Ron for when I go back to work). And, despite all the initial problems and lack of milk production, I can get quite a bit more now. Still taking the Reglan just to be sure, but once my prescription runs out, it’s on its own — based on my body’s response to the girls needs.
