The trip … and at home for the first time!

The trip was rather uneventful. Both girls fit well in their carseats, despite Emily’s small size, she really does fit ok! The monitors didn’t go off at all… they run on battery when not plugged into the wall.

We did do a drive-by at work to let folks peak at them. Since it’s been 19 days since I delivered them, folks were really dying to see the girls in person! And, now that they are our of the NICU, it’s actually possible to see them! Yeah!

The girls carseats are in the 2nd row captains chairs. I sat in the way-back middle to be able to watch and see their monitors (and them of course). All went well. Their heads are still very “floppy”, so I did right them every once in a while, but for the most part, they held their own.

I do need to add that the cats were very interested in our new additions. OJ wanted to get in the carseat with Emily, but we nixed that of course. Reeses just sniffed and sniffed, and it looks like the novelty has worn off for both cats.

To let the girls sleep, we left them in their seats for a bit and both look equally comfy. I guess now is the true test of our prepardness… we’re home. No nurses, no blood pressure and temperature checks, no feeding requirements, no orders. Just us, the girls and whatever works!

Here goes nothing!
