After 2.5 months of estimates, lack of returned phone calls, etc. etc. this is what the contractor I wanted to hire states to me… after I sent him one last nasty-gram yesterday…
“Aimee, I understand. The fact is, other projects and commitments have surfaced since we provided the original estimate and we have a schedule that backs us up into May at this point. Perhaps it’s better if you pursue other avenues. I’m sure you can find other reliable contractors although finding as competitive a price point may prove challenging.”
So, Ron and I are going to do it ourselves!
Which means we’ll need babysitters a few weekends. Anyone game?? 🙂
We think it’ll cost us about $500-$750 in materials and our time which will net us a couple grand from insurance. We still will need our hardwood contractor and piano movers to handle those two things.
